Back when new housing starts around DCL were popping up like mushrooms after a wet spell, it never took very long to locate a McMansion being put under roof, and often enough the subject material was being employed.  I use it in small quantities for other purposes, and the folks on the roof were always happy to tell me when or where I could look on the jobsite for a leftover scrap.  Beats putting it in the landfill.  To buy an entire roll would be overkill on a grand scale.

Does anybody on the board here either do roofing, or maybe work in home construction and know where I can secure a few feet of this nappy black nylon stuff?  I just lost some and need to replace it.  TIA!

Don I don't know of any access to this speciefic material but the Republican recently stated that the Point View was being torn down and there was an ad indicating salvagable materials would be available.  Who knows.....

Hmmm... very interesting.  Thanks for the head's up, Jared.  I like to recycle building material of many kinds, actually.  I wonder what will take Point View's place, especially from the perspective of ice access (formerly it has always provided a place to park for ice-nuts).  Hope that continues to be the case in its future incarnation.
